Cat Skid Steer
Gretchen Wirtz Wedding
These sweet goodies are from Gretchen Wirtz' wedding. Still wanting to keep with tradition, yet incorporating something fun with cheesecake, Gretchen had a fondant red and white wedding cake modeled from the design of her wedding dress. I made her monogram topper out of gum paste and studded with it crystals. She then treated her guests to a cheese cake bar where they could dress their dessert with chocolate sauce, caramel, toffee or chocolate chips and pecans.
Puddles
In September, Illinois American Water requested a centerpiece cake for their community open house. I created Puddles, their mascot, which was completely edible. The umbrella Puddles is holding was made out of gum paste. It was based off of the umbrella the company gave away that day to all visitors.
Space Shuttle Atlantis
This past August, I was given the unique opportunity to make Scott Altman's birthday cake. And what kind of cake do you make for an astronaut? His Space Shuttle of course! Commissioned by Lakeview Museum - I was extremely honored that they contacted me to make this and let me be a part of such a fun event! Although its difficult to tell from this picture, the cake was designed to look like it was landing so the front nose of the shuttle is sitting at a 45 degree angle off of the board.
Pink Pretty Princess
This cake was affectionately named "Pink, Pretty Princess" due to its soft, pink feminine design. Frosted in buttercream, it is adorned with fondant swags, fondant bows, crystals and fresh pink roses. The top tier is elevated by a crystal candle stick and has pink and clear crystals beads spraying down from the center of the cake.
